Appalachian Mountain Institute Reservation Procedure
What you can expect
Thank you for considering AMI for your climbing adventure. AMI strives to make your climbing experience enjoyable and accommodate your needs as much as possible. After making a reservation, AMI will be contacting you regarding your reservation to discuss your expectations, arrange logistics, and payment. You should be expecting a phone call, and an information packet will be sent to you via your e-mail address.
Information packet
You will receive an information packet from the office via e-mail. This packet will contain:
Directions to the meeting location
Equipment that you will need to bring with you
Consent form and waiver to be read and signed by each person
Medical information form
Frequently asked questions
Reservation Policies
Please read the following reservation policies. After reading, click on the accept button to continue with the reservation. Once you have completed the reservation pages you will be contacted by an AMI representative to discuss the logistics.
Climbing is inherently
dangerous and you will be asked to complete a consent
form and wavier before being allowed to climb with AMI.
This form will be sent to you via e-mail prior to the trip
date in the information packet. Please read, sign and
bring these forms with you.
Deposit
A deposit of $50 per person is required to hold the reservation
date. This is a non-refundable deposit.
Payment
AMI will accept credit cards, DISCOVER, VISA, AND MASTER CARD
and personal checks. The date is not reserved until
the deposit is received by AMI.
Weather
All courses are held rain or shine. Guiding days will be held unless the guide deems the conditions to be unsafe. Any cancellations due to weather will be rescheduled or deposit refunded if rescheduling is not possible. No shows, without prior arrangement, will be billed for the day.
Rescheduling
Any rescheduling needs to be arranged 14 days prior to the date scheduled. Please do not delay contacting us if your plans change. Contact the office immediately as schedule changes are difficult and affect the employees of AMI. It is highly recommended that you purchase trip insurance.
Equipment
AMI will provide you with
climbing gear if needed. If you choose to use your own
equipment AMI is not responsible for the condition of your
equipment. You will also need appropriate clothing and
hiking shoes, lunch, and water. A complete list
will be sent with the information packet. It is your
responsibility to bring all items on the list. If you
have any questions please discuss this with AMI.
